Instead the Falcons managed to hold on, narrowly avoiding being the first team ever to lose a playoff game after being ahead by 20 points.
Russell Wilson looked really good in this one and even though it's a devastating loss, the future looks bright in Seattle.
The last 30 seconds of this one almost rivaled that Denver game from yesterday as Matt Ryan made two good really good throws, the first to Harry Douglas and the second to Tony Gonzalez. The Falcons then called timeout to set up the field goal.
In ridiculous fashion as usual the Seahawks tried to ice the kicker and the ball sailed wide right, giving Falcons kicker, Matt Bryant another shot at it which he promptly made. Icing the kicker shouldn't be made against the rules I guess, but I love when it bites the coach that tried to do it in the ass.
Ryan is obviously glad to have that monkey off his back as the Falcons look forward to playing the 49ers. That should be a really good game of course and San Francisco will be favored I think. With Russell Wilson out of the picture, the last rookie QB is gone and Kaepernick is the last really dual threat QB left in the game. That could be a good point of discussion, "Dual threat QB's can't make it to the Superbowl".
