Caring deeply about the decision some kid makes

Honestly I've never paid much attention to recruiting but since I started this blog it's come to my attention that apparently recruiting is sort of a big deal to college football. I don't know I just can't get that excited about where some kid decides to go to school and following them on twitter or Facebook just seems creepy. That being said here are the two biggest recruits Ohio State is looking at:

e: Dontre Wilson is a Buckeye!!!
e2: so is Vonn Bell!!!

Dontre Wilson - 4* (rivals) ATH DeSoto, TX

Urban Meyer originally recruited Wilson but lost out when he committed to Oregon. However, once Chip Kelly left to coach for the Eagles, Wilson reopened his recruitment and Meyer was on that in a way no grown man should be for a high school student.

Wilson recently took a trip to Columbus before visiting Texas but many feel confident Wilson will pick the Buckeyes since he wants to play for a championship and get early playing time which OSU can provide. Wilson is making his decision tonight! As in this night at 10pm EST so we don't have to wait long to find out his pick.

Wilson would be a huge get for an already stocked spread offense.

Vonn Bell - 5* (rivals) Safety, Rossville, GA

In my opinion this would be the bigger get than Wilson since the Buckeyes are already stocked on offense. If you watched any Ohio State football last season you know the Buckeyes need help on defense.

Bell has closed off all communication with the outside until signing day so we will have to wait until Wednesday but all sources say it's between Ohio State and Tennessee. Tenn is the school Bell grew up rooting for but he is also very close with Meyer and the fact that Tennessee just went through another coaching change has to mean something.

I would lean towards him going with OSU but you never know until the recruit puts on the hat.

  1. I gave up on Vonn Bell since everyone was saying he was going to Alabama, but I was very glad he chose OSU. More than players, Fickell needs to be sent packing. The defense has been terrible since Tressel left.

    1. I think this'll be the deciding year on Fickell. Fickell coasted last year on good will for leading OSU during the interim but if we give up 49 to the likes of Indiana again, especially after getting Bell then he'll be in real trouble.
